Division 12: Kaufmanniana group (Waterlily) tulips have single flowers 8 to 10 cm across. They flower early- or mid-spring on relatively short stems 15 to 30 cm tall. They are frequently multicoloured often with pink or red with flashes of yellow, usually with a distinctively coloured base. The leaves are green sometimes with purple, red or bronze markings.

This group is particularly suitable for rockeries or at the front of borders but can also be grown in patio pots and containers.
