Hippeastrum Clown has large flamboyant blooms. Each petal has a central white radial band bounded by bands of red and then white out to the side, with red predominant in the upper petals and white in the lower. This reliable, good grower, with its sturdy red tinged stems, each typically carrying 4 flowers, has been awarded the RHS Award of Garden Merit.
